Cut Down To Size

Happy New Year, cybersphere! I hope your last moments of 2014 were joyful.

After I shot the champagne cork across the room and emptied half the bottle on the apartment floor (apparently I don’t know how to open champagne??), I enjoyed a delicious dinner with my husband, sipped the remaining bubbly, and then joined Neil Patrick Harris on his yacht.

Just kidding.

It was Channing Tatum’s yacht.

Anyway….

Here’s a humor essay about a mean doctor who told me to lose 20 pounds, just published on The Doctor TJ Eckleburg Review.

Start 2015 with some rumination, human connection, and maybe a laugh or two.

Until next time, cheers to our health and happiness.

  1. Wow – terrific essay and writing! I loved the phrase “low self esteem herpes”. Almost all of us have it and it doesn’t take much to trigger a recurrence. Whenever something like that happens to me, I go through all the motions/emotions but inevitably end up with “screw it” and move on.

Here’s to moving on in 2015!

  2. Lol! Sounds like a nice evening (with or without a yacht). Mine involved trying not to fall asleep before midnight because my husband and I stubbornly insisted that having a baby had not changed us 😝

  3. Oh my gosh, I both laughed and cried at that article because I could totally understand every aspect of it! Amazingly written, by the way…I love the thought process as the doctor’s appointment goes on.

For the record, I’m 5’1″ and over 160 lbs, and screw anyone who points it out. Fluffy does not necessarily equal unhealthy, and a large part of my weight is muscle, so :P. lol
